Stars & Stripes Special -
Celebrating Freedom at North Freedom!

Join us in celebrating the pivotal role that railroads played in the development of our nation with a patriotic ride aboard a train decked out in red, white, and blue.

Enjoy a free snow cone after the train ride, and take a walking guided tour of Mid-Continent's engine house, machine shop, and car shop.

Military personnel (active duty, reserves, and retired) ride for free in coach class during this event. The train will be pulled by Mid-Continent's beloved vintage ALCO S-1 locomotive, pictured in the Autumn Color Weekends section.

*Guided walking tour $5, not included in train fare.

Thurs-Sat, July 4-6, 2024. Trains rides will operate on our standard summer schedule with departures at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.
