The mission of the Reedsburg Area Chamber of Commerce is to facilitate and enhance business development through a partnership with our community to achieve growth and prosperity.
Our day will begin with a visit to Iowa’s Pikes Peak State Park. Pikes Peak’s vistas overlooking the Mississippi River Valley are simply breathtaking.
After an included lunch at Old Man River Brewing Company in McGregor, IA we’ll visit Froelich’s Tractor Museum and 1890’s Village. Home to John Froelich’s invention of the first gasoline tractor to propel itself forward & back in 1892. This became the forerunner to the John Deere Tractor Company. Our guided tour also includes 1891 General Store and Post Office, 1866 One Room School, Warehouse and Blacksmith Shop, Railroad Depot, 1903 Vintage Barn and more.
Our last stop will be at the Earthmoving Legacy Center in Elkader, IA. This 38,000 square foot facility showcases the rich history of earthmoving spanning from the 1880’s to 1940, focusing primarily on the evolution of the Caterpillar Company, Holt Manufacturing and C.L. Best Manufacturing. Our guided tour includes a collection of 50 early pieces ranging from horse-drawn earthmoving equipment to the 1940’s era. Moderate walking.
