The Sauk County Historical Society Museum opens for Season! A new exhibit at the Sauk County Historical Museum this year will feature people that are from or have lived in Sauk County and have been ground breakers, influencers, or are just plain interesting.

People like Alexander Wetmore who was fascinated by birds as a child in North Freedom and pursued his passion to become a renowned ornithologist and the head of the Smithsonian Institution, or Fannie Morley, a young lady from rural Baraboo who won the Sweepstakes Prize at the 1879 International Dairy Fair in New York City for the best butter made at any time or place. Find out more about some of the fascinating people that have called Sauk County home.
