Explore Madison College Science Classes!
Chemistry - Students will participate in safe, hands-on laboratory activities designed to explore how chemistry is related to the world around us.
Anatomy and Physiology - Students will explore the anatomical structures and physiological functions of the heart and brain. Students will dissect sheep brains and pig hearts to investigate the internal anatomy of each organ. They will carry out pinning exercises to master the major structures of both organs and learn about general functions of the lobes of the brain and the chambers of the heart.
Microbiology - Students will learn about microbes and participate in hands on activities with safe bacterial species. They will stain and observe bacteria using a microscope, identify characteristics of bacteria, transfer bacteria from broth to agar plates, and do an experiment to understand the effectiveness of antibiotics.
