  • History of Depot

The Reedsburg train depot was built in 1906 and used until July 1963.  It was part of the Chicago Northwestern rail line and now serves as the trailhead for the state  '400' trail.  The trail bears the name of the '400' train -- the train that traveled 400 miles from Chicago, IL to Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN in 400 minutes.  The '400' trail is used by bikers from all over the country.  The actual depot building houses the Reedsburg Area Chamber of Commerce but is owned by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.  It is a beautiful, historic building with original woodwork and floors and the iconic ticket window.  Come check it out when you visit Reedsburg!
